This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

Same with me. These flowers are in an apparently abandoned plot next to mine at our community garden. It gets full sun and has very rich soil. I would guess that both of these are the answer. When I grew them at home they had poor soil (not much compost and low nitrogen levels) and part sun. They sure are lovely flowers.
I absolutely love the combination of the orange-red of the poppy with a purple-blue flower. A field around my house is planted with poppies and blue bachelor buttons, which is just spectacular!
