As I was admiring the honey bees fighting over my purple hyacinth bean flowers, a big female ruby throated hummingbird joined in the feast. I almost dropped the camera! A very busy patch of purple color in my vegetable garden.

I grew these over here a couple of years ago. Beautiful flowers and pods, might try them again next year.
So pretty! I may have to try those next year, especially if they attract pollinators (and humming birds!) so well. How do they taste?
These beans are toxic! Only for decoration, pollinators, and hummingbirds. Though evidently you can eat them if you cook them and then rinse them a million times, I think I read.
Very cool you caught that hummer on film, I can see how you were startled by it's arrival, they are fast and loud little creatures! They like to 'buzz my tower' when I am filling their feeder or near a favorite flower bed.

I think I will plant these again next year. They took a while to sprout and grow, but were great for the late season.

Funny you mention this now. I just recently bought a package of fresh seeds for next year! I didn't have any hyacinth beans this year and do look forward to growing them again.
