This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

welcome home gift
My parents have returned from the South to their Massachusetts home. (Another sign of Spring!) Skippy and I are visiting today. I have a little package for them - to help start their garden. A few seed packets (nasturtiums, beans, spinach and a summer crisp lettuce). Also plant labels and marker pen. I have a lot of seedlings for them too, but they're not ready yet.

We dug up some of our garden and planted three 12 foot rows after you left us today. Spinach, Peas, several varieties of Lettuce and some Parsley. Thank you for the nice package of seeds - and we used the labels and the garden marker too!!
It was a beautiful day and we loved your visit, the walk in the woods along the ponds, the bird sightings and boisterous Skippy.
Now I know where my parents are! Welcome back to Massachusetts.
Wow! You were busy. And hello Aliceb!
I love the gift idea. I'll have to remember that when I give a gardening gift! May I ask where you got the plant tags?
The row markers are from my local True Value Hardware store. Everything else was ordered from Johnny's.
