A journal of my home vegetable garden. Skippy thinks it's his garden, but I've been gardening here for 20 years. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6). I have a big community garden plot and a small plot in my yard. I try to grow all of my family's vegetables using sustainable organic methods.

It's breathtaking. But how the heck do you pronounce it?

I think my dad says "cappy-sign-er", but I usually say purple peas.

Those are beautiful! Where did you find the seeds?

My snap peas have great vines, some flowers, but no peas. I'm thinking I planted too late. These would be wonderful for next year.

It's been a real bad year for peas for me. It got too hot too soon. I bet we'll all do better with snap peas next year.

The Capucijner soup peas are from Sand Hill Preservation Center.
