Dec 1 was the full moon. It was finally a bit chilly for my fingers on the camera trigger. The branches are all bare now. The winter ducks (canvas backs) are on the big pond.
Still no hard frost in my yard. Unusually late. We had a mild frost back in October and even a dusting of snow, but nothing since. I'm sure it will come...

What kind of camera are you using to get that good a moon shot? I have a Lumix DMC-FZ7, but the best I could do yesterday with that gorgeous moon was about half way between your two photos. Thanks!

Yes, the moon is beautiful this week! Your pictures are lovely as well. It is funny that I came on here tonight and saw pictures of the moon because about 10 minutes ago, before I tucked my (almost) 4 year old into bed, we checked out the moon with our telescope! Absolutely beautiful!

These are gorgeous pics. The moon is beautiful this week over here in old Europe, too. Reminds me that I should go for a walk to the pond on a full moon night, would be a bit of change from all those sunrise-over-the-pond pictures in my blog.
Don't know if I've ever seen the sunrise....
Gorgeous pictures Kathy. I love the moon. It rose over the workshop as I left work for home last night and when I got home it was outside my kitchen window shining through broken cloud as I cooked dinner. Then when I left for the workshop this morning it was sitting in a blue sky and reminded me of some of my favourite Ansel Adams photographs.

Karen Anne, To get better moon photos, try taking pictures before the sky is dark. The camera will get more resolution this way. After dark, the moon ends up overexposed in a dark sky. It was quite light out when I took the closeup. Then I adjusted the contrast.
