This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

Oh yes, that wonderful freak storm....put a damper on my weekend plans on finishing up the rest of the garden for preparation of winter. We ended up with sleet and rain, everything was a sheet of ice, so much for rototilling!
Your snow looks great!! I cannot believe it--snow in October. I'm told that here in Boxford, Ma. we had 2 storms with snow.--- the first on Friday night with a dusting, and the second on Sunday with heavy wet snow that lasted awhile. I don't know how long as we were away.

Don't know if it makes you feel any better - but we know summer is coming our way as we had 37deg on Saturday.
