white dendrobium

orchid flowers 058

With so much snow outside, I am photographing indoor subjects. Dendrobium Ise x Sachi blossoms profusely several times a year despite my neglect. This year it has many air roots on little shoots along the stems. I am considering potting these up.

Your orchid looks beautiful. I am so jealous. I sometimes think orchids are improved by neglect. Our neighbor has a big white Dendrobium that she found blooming under her grapefruit tree where she could not even see it. She had given it NO care whatsoever. Amazing!! And it's been blooming for weeks and weeks, she says.

I refuse to believe you neglect it. You must do something. Water? Fertilizer? At least water, please tell me you at least water it???

And, if you do pot up a little shoot, do you think it would survive a trip (or two) in suitcases from MA to CA??

Maybe you just let it live neglected in a place it likes?

Jen I'll definitely bring you a little one next time I come to CA. It really does like neglect. A little water now and then. And lots of air flow in the summer.
