This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

my first vegetable sprouts!!!
The kale and escarole in my indoor trays have sprouted already. Yipppeee. Its only been 4 days since sowing. (Photos later.)
I discovered Zinnias and Marigolds up yesterday (indoors) that I only sewed 4 days previously. Funny how excited we get over tiny seedlings, isn't it? :)
Every year, its like the photos of my first (and only) child... Eventually I'll tire of photographing sprouts. But for now, I pull out the special macro lens, wait for good sunlight, take 25 shots of one plant... and then marvel over it. And the next day the sprouts are twice as big!
