I'm working on my seed list. Here's a list of all the varieties I've grown for the last few years with notes on how I liked them. The 2010 column lists varieties I'll grow again this year. I need to go through it and add new varieties I'll try.

Nice Kathy, You have actually seen the fur on the willows? I never seem to catch them until Feb or so. My Black seeded simpson lettuce is doing OK on the window sill though!

Was the sugar baby watermelon a bush variety? I live in the same area and am looking for a good variety! Love the list - thanks for posting!!
It was a vine variety, but makes quite a modes sized vine. I can;t recommend it. It didn't grow very well for me. Next year I will try something different. There is a very sweet Japanese orange watermelon I will try.
I love this idea to list what was grown and what you thought of it. My husband and I are planning our Fedco order right now, and this would really help us! I also had problems growing Sugar Baby watermelon up here in NH, but I think maybe bc I tried to plant the seeds right in the ground. Also, it seemed that some of your summer squash did not work out too well? One of my favorites is the Costata Romanesca from Fedco...the fruit is very tasty, especially raw, but for us the best part is the high production of the edible flowers!
This is such a great service you provide - you should be a paid consultant to Johnnys! I grew the mokum carrots and the red summer crisp lettuce based on your recommendation last year. Fantastic! We finished the carrots last week - don't you think it's amazing that they kept that long in the refrigerator?
Yes, it IS amazing how well they keep. I still have one last little bag of carrots and many beets and celeriac left in the fridge. Also potatoes and squash in baskets.

The squash that didn't work out well last year was because of the cool spring. Some plants got stunted my the cool weather when I put them out even though I waited into June to set out.
And some squash I'm just tired of. Zephyr and Starship are nice, but not really special and I'll skip them next year to try something new.
