This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. But Skippy always stood by me and was a great friend. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps and garden with me. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees and berry bushes, chickens and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

the juncos are here

junco 2

A sign that winter is on the way. I'm listening to the news as it seems that snow is coming.

I noticed the Juncos last week here. I love the way they dig through the leaves under the bird feeder.

Our Juncos came several weeks ago here in the north of Boston. I always love it when they come South from their summer-time homes up North.

HI Mom! Another sign of winter is that you have gone south! Hope you are enjoying the sun. Trees are coated with ice here now and we have 3 inches of snow coming tonight... Brrr
