This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

time for spring babies!
I have seen so many baby birds and animals around this year! Cardinals fledged in my yard today, and the robins are feeding a nestful of chicks. Baby bunnies are in the gardens. I even had a baby river otter run smack into my leg yesterday, with mother otter close behind. (First time I've even seen an otter.) So cute!!

Not bumped into an Otter! Every year I land up defending some robin that cant fly for a few days from the neighborhood cats. Usually with parent swooping at my head as I step outside. I added a pond this year, for water, since the last 2 I had to keep a dish out for jnr.
