This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.
Glorious! I love blossom, our little cherry tree in the road outside our house I talk about annually with you, lost her blossom last week it twirls and tumbles like pink snow. The lilacs have been great this year, we enjoyed their perfume as we sat and enjoyed a chilled glass of rose in the garden last week. Our first outdoor evening this year!! Marian (LondonUK)
Those are beautiful! There seems to be more blossom than usual this year. Perhaps because of the long, cold Winter. Perhaps because we were looking forward to it for so long. I do hope that translates into more fruit!
And just think of those delicious pears later on in the season. My grandmother would can them in a light syrup so they tasted just picked even in the dead of winter.
