This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

spring is coming - willow catkins and daffodil sprouts
My pussy willows burst open this week. Right on schedule. Last year, they opened on the very same week.
Some other plants are early this year with the balmy weather we have had. Snow drops are in full bloom and the daffodils are an inch high already. From looking back at my old photos, these are a full month early this year.

Wow that is some fabulous photography, your best stuff yet Kathy! Whats lens are you using?
PS Hard to say we are looking forward to spring when winter has not even come yet, but I admit Im so excited to get the 2012 garden tilled and ready for this years new crops!
Lovely photos. The Tulips are having a race with the Daffs in my front garden. I love Snowdrops, when you gently lift their heads and look inside.

I love, love picture of the pussy willow with the little droplets of water, beautiful!
That's a fabulous photo on top! Those little droplets of water clinging to the catkins are amazing! Thanks for sharing!
It's amazing how early Spring has sprung in all parts of the country. Here in PA it's been a long time since I've seen flowers so early. Normally we're waiting on the cold to subside in April! But I love it. Enjoy! Thanks!
