This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

skippy steals my sweater!
What fun to be a dog on a beautiful day with a big open space to play on! Skippy's idea of fun is to steal my sweatshirt and shake it hard. Then he plays keep away with me. Ahh, what fun!
We played this game on my parent's beautiful lawn, which has big purple patches of ajuga flowers that my dad has mowed around. Its one of my favorite sights (and games). I'm hoping to grow a similar lawn myself soon.

Ha Ha, Skippy must have late spring fever! Your parent's garden looks very pretty. Are the Ajugas native to the east cost of USA? Just I saw some similar lovely flowers on banks by the roadside on our travels through California, lovely wild Lupins too. What an interesting State it is.

Skippy looks so happy. I hope your sweater survived fairly unscathed.
Aww how sweet of Skippy to take care of your sweater while you garden. Your parent's lawn is beautiful.
Our french bull dog loves to steal things while I garden. Usually he'll grab a mouthful of weeds I just pulled out and make me chase him! It's really the cutest thing!
Happy water dog! Me dog does a great purposful faceplant several times a day in the grass.
Ha that's funny! We had all the neighbors dogs over today, two shepards,a st.bernard and two poodle crosses. Quite a mix for sure!

What a cute little punk.
That is one, happy dog! Lovely photos!
Skippy looks very happy! What pretty flowers!
Do your folks live in MA?
Yes they do. North of Boston.
Oh I love ajuga! It reminds me of the summers I spent working at an opera company in rural NY.
