These photos show the amount of sun my garden gets at 1:00 in the winter. Not so much with a big house to the south. But the sunlight is getting stronger now. Though its 24*F outside today, the snow is melting nicely in sunlit areas. (Yeah!) Looks like I need to get out there and shovel that path again. I'm still meaning to try some mid winter kale. The kale is down there under the snow somewhere.

Thought I would stop lurking and say hi. Your garden looks much like mine right now - covered in feet of snow. I really enjoy your pictures. I borrowed your 2009 planting schedule to use to guide me this year, making some changes to include only things my family will eat of course. I am in Michigan, zone 5 so your schedule helped me a lot in planning for this year. Last year I was much too late, and completely unplanned.

Seconding the comment - your timeline helps me a lot. I'm in zone 6 like you, so it is perfect for planning for a somewhat newbie gardener like me. The sun on your pic makes the snow sparkle and look so inviting, it almost doesn't look cold!
Nice blog. We have had snow in bristol, england. its been great playing in the snow like a child.
Evening Kathy and Skippy,we had 8 inches of snow Sunday night/Monday morning so we are in good company with you. The most snow London has seen for 18 years and the Met office predicts more tonight! It was lovely to see families in our street playing snowballs, in a mad world who would guess that snow would bring people together!
I just have to say that them kodak moments I've been looking at brings back happy memories!
I sit back with excitement and tears looking at this priceless art! Hey guys thanks so much for sharing, sometimes people need an enlightment of visual beauty to uplift the soul, and this sure did do the job!
Oh, goodness -- it's terribly cold here for us in the SE US (unusually so), but we don't have snow. I'm delaying planting peas and onion sets, not to mention trying to sow hardy greens.
