A journal of my home vegetable garden. Skippy thinks it's his garden, but I've been gardening here for 20 years. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6). I have a big community garden plot and a small plot in my yard. I try to grow all of my family's vegetables using sustainable organic methods.

My Dad has a sunflower that has grown to be a giant! We measured it today at 118 inches tall -  nearly 10 ft. He took a picture of me and Skippy next to it.

Wow, that is a massive sunflower. I've always wondered, how hard are sunflowers to maintain? Did it take a lot of work for it to grow this high or does it pretty much do it by itself with the right amount of sunshine and rain?

Thanks,

My sister says: "Wow, looks like dad traded an old man and a dry cow for some magic seeds!"

Wow Wow! A diving bee, and a Blue Moon! Wasn't it bright? I loved watching it.
