This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

Goodness you saw so many beautiful birds, and cheeky chappy squirrels. One of the nests looks as if it is built around the branch like a handbag (sorry purse!). Thanks for posting these it gives an opportunity to seed wildlife that I wouldn't see here in the UK.

These photos are so wonderful!

I found your blog this weekend while looking for garden planning references online. This is my first year with a community garden plot. I too am in/around Boston and your site and work is truly inspirational!

Thanks for sharing all of your hard work and methods.

Great photos, but no snakes? I seem to have huge number of garter snakes this year (SW Ohio suburbia). Can't figure out what's going on.
