Mine will need to come out before the ground freezes solid. Probably in December. I have a lot of them.

luckily our ground doesn't freeze on the NW coast so I can harvest swiss chard, parsley, leeks and beets most of the winter...

I just finished pulling the last of my beets and winter radish. I’m working on pulling leeks and celeriac. Once we frost I’ll start pulling my parsnips. I hope they have roots down there. I haven’t gotten parsnips to sprout in years so a crop of roots would be a new thing for me. I’m jealous that you can pull root vegetables all winter.

but....I am jealous for your warm season crops.... I can't grow beans, squash or tomatoes...our summer nights are too cool here on the coast...and the days rarely get above the high 70's..great for people not so much for veggies... nw organic gardener

i haven't had personal experience with them... well- none that i've noticed anyway... lol...but it's always good to know what's out there laying in wait! we seem to have everything here so i wouldn't be surprised if they showed up next season! hoa
