This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

Fall is definitely here in the coastal NW. We are getting our fall storms this week, lots of rain and wind coming in off the Pacific. The windows are rattling and the ocean is roaring as I type. It is supposed to rain and blow all week. We went from clear and cool to storms over night. Hopefully next week will clear enough to finish up in the garden and put outdoor furniture away for the winter.
Wow. It sounds pretty wild being on the coast with the storms. We could use some rain here.
We did not get a frost last night, so I can wait longer to clear out the summer garden plants. It supposed to warm up in the coming days. Good gardening days.
My next job is to get my garlic in.
It has stormed all day again today, high winds and heavy rain...we are under high wind warnings...lots of power outages...but we still have power....the house shutters... temperatures are in the mid 50s ..NW coastal gardener
