This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.
Happy New Year to you too! Where did the last one go? Not my favourite time of year, apart from the glass of fizz, SO!! the seed catalogues that arrived today are very timely. KL, NJ has zones 6a and 7b I think. I was just looking at the USDA map. MA has zones 6a, 6b and 5. So the warmest areas of MA are in the same zones as the coolest aras of NJ! Interesting. Happy New Year to you!
Happy New Year. Kathy, I found a great seed catalog which features all heirloom and "old" seeds. You are probably aware of it BUT just in case. It is from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds and can be found at www.rareseeds.com. It is truly a georgeous catalog with fantastic offerings. I suspect that 80% of my garden will be made up of seeds from this catalog this year.

Very nice blog. Happy New Year. I live in NJ which is a zone 6. You live in Boston and that's also zone 6? I thought Boston was going to be colder.
