This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

Look at all those seedlings!! Your puppy looks so cute out there!! And loved seeing the baby robins!!
It must be nice having seed racks.
I generally sow my seedlings directly into the gardens sometimes with solarization, or in very large pots that tend to heat up a bit faster.
These are some of the most beautiful photos of seedlings I've ever seen! I also enjoyed checking out the live stream of the Robin's nest. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely. Need to do some sowing of courgettes, cucs, pumpkins etc etc. Time is fighting me this year it seems. Still your pictures have inspired me to get on with it!! Thanks.

They look so nice and healthy!
@Alaiyo - I agree! New seedlings look so sweet and vulnerable (see #3). Amazing - #3 appears to have tiny hairs and seedling mix clinging to it. In one day, it was probably standing tall.
This has been the nicest Spring in years. My sugar snaps started blooming a week or so ago, now have small pods. I'm keeping fingers crossed that temps continue to be cool - we've had a few days with temps near 90, then it rains and we cool off for a few days. Heavenly!
Seedlings make me so happy, they are the excitement of new plants and a successful season!

Love those little basil plants :)
Beautiful and inspirational!
Hi there! I really appreciate your online planting calendar but for the last 2 days, it has not worked for me. Is there a problem you are aware of? Thanks for making it available!
Oops, I forgot to fix that. I am changing the URL. I will try to get it back up in the next couple days. I think I can link the old to the new URL for a while, then switch over.
Thanks for the reminder!
Thank you! I love your site and appreciate that we are in about the same zone (I'm in SE Connecticut). Your posts remind me to move along in this short season. I'm from SoCal where we could plant anytime and grow year round. Here one must make hay while the sun shines :) and you are a BIG help to me!
That is so adorable! I have a dog myself. She’s an excellent guard dog but she’s a better cuddler than anything else : )
Those are beautiful shots! What kind of camera are you using?
