This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

hellebores under snow cover
We got about 3 inches of snow in our April Fool's Day snow storm. The hellebores and snow drops are covered for now. I think it will melt fast. I'm ready for some warm summer night patio dining soon!

I'm ready for some barbecuing and glasses of wine on the deck as well. Let's get this white stuff gone!
I had been sitting thinking the risks of snow were past, this reminded me that I was being complacent. I'd even put Chard out last week.
