This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

bright yellow for April
Welcome April! Forsythia and daffodils are in full bloom now. Occasional splashes of bright yellow. And thank goodness for the clear blue sky and no rain in forecast for the coming week. Many puddles and high rivers in the area that need to dry up. March blew away all the records for Boston rain.
Nice!

How pretty is your forsythia! It is such a cheerful harbinger of spring in New England! Here, in the desert, most of my roses are blooming and the first artichokes are almost ready for picking. Happy Easter to you and your family and, of course, Skippy! The Easter Bunny is bringing Pixie another stuffed PWD - so nice to be able to find the breed nowadays!

I love forsythia -- it is the flower I remember best from the few years we lived in Newton when I was 3, 4 and 5 years old. Doesn't do too well in California. Happy Easter, Kathy!
