Today: Planted in the garden next to my house seeds for two double rows of soybeans (Envy and Butterbean) with soy bean inoculant. Also two double rows of bush beans (Tavera and Royal Burgandy) and two poles of Chinese pole bean. In my community plot, I weeded and spread salt marsh hay in the paths.

These are a variety I got from a business colleague who brought them from China. They are green in color, shading to white along the center. They are about 6-8 inches long, lumpy and very crips and lemony bean flavor. Delicious. when they sprout, I will post a link to my photos from previous years. You can also find these at the Chinese pole beans link on the sidebar. I haven't heard of any one who is familiar with this variety.
I also bought a package of some very long Chinese pole beans. This is a more common variety that I am growing for the first time.

Dying for PHOTOS of your progress. =) I expect you know the public is craving such visual inspiration, and will get to it when you can.
Just so you know. Bated breath, and all that. =)

Kathy, I have a 5 yr old PWD, Bella. Monday I was at a Memorial Day parade in my town with my husband and little three girls. We met a "Skippy" (7 yr old male PWD) who was being babysat by his owner's parents. Wondering if it was your Skippy. If yes, he's a cutie! :)

Yes, that is my Skippy!! I had reports that he had fun at the parade and that my parents enjoyed speaking with the owner of a 5 yr old female PWD.
I've been traveling, hence the last of photos last week. I am glad to be back in my gardens and to have my Skippy back with me.

Kathy, Such a small world. I didn't make the connection until I returned home after the parade. I stumbled across your blog 5 years ago when I was looking for photos, etc. on PWDs. At the time, we were waiting for Bella. I have always enjoyed your photos, gardens and most of all Skippy! Should Skippy be back this way & need a playmate, Bella is alway game!
