This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

spring is here - a good friday
The peepers (little yellowish wetland frogs) started singing tonight! The song of spring. They don’t start up gradually. About 4 pm today, they started in full chorus, peeping away.
They haven’t been singing as loud since their first day. Seems like they may be huddling back down in the mud with the cooler and dreary weather we are getting this week.
No peepers yet out in Princeton, near Mt. Wachusett. We love their song!
