RAIN!

We got an inch and a half of rain last night! Wow. And more is on the way. Another 10 inches or so will fill up our reservoirs. (Not to be greedy, an inch and a half is great :-)

  1. Very beautiful rain. It came down hard overnight then drizzled all day. Very beautiful.

We've had months of soggy weather in the past when we wished it would end. Months of hot steamy weather. Months of cold snowy weather with blizzards and ice. But there's something else about a drought as bad as we have had. The river beds are dry with solid, cracked earth. And many plants are dying. Rhododendrons seem hard hit and have had curled leaves for months now. Eventually branches die off. Azaleas look good but then they loose one branch at a time. Large pines and maples have brown leaves. I don't know how much drought these plants can take. They are plants that have always had good rainfall.

Maybe this nice rainfall marks the end of our drought. Wishful.

Glad to see it. Very dry here also.
My brother lives in Chelmsford, no outside water use.
