This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

Here's a picture of me just after I set up my table at the Farmer's Market. I ended up selling 15 jars. Pretty good I suppose for a very small Farmer's Market.
Me too! I have over 50 lbs still. I suppose that will get me through the winter.
It was funny, there was one woman who said she'd only buy it if it was good honey. She bought a small jar and left. 10 minutes later she was back and said, it's good, I'll take two large jars. Funny. I guess she went to the car and tried it. I'm glad she liked it.
I sold at the Farmers Market a second Saturday. I brought Suzie who was so good She sat by my table and said hi to everyone. A good draw for my honey sales! I sold out the 2 dozen jars I brought. Plus 3 people put in orders for 10 each. That's 58 lbs! I've sold all my excess honey. I gave about lbs saved for me. (And a lot saved for my bees in case they need it next spring.)
Congratulations Kathy! That's wonderful. :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Wish I lived close enough to get there and try some of that honey!
