I'm so busy in my garden - ALL the time. I can't believe I'm a garden blogger and I can't find time to write about my garden because I'm too busy gardening!
Well, life happens too. My dad died and we are planning a service next week. It's one reason I'm in the garden - it's my favorite place.
First, Kathy, so sorry about your father and your medical problems. You're such a great person, we readers care.
ReplyDeleteI, too, am a blogger (though not in your class) whose blog has taken a back seat to stressful times, so I do understand. So far this year I'm without a garden (moving to a different state for family and health reasons), so I can hardly wait to get started again. Please know that your blog is an inspiration to many.
My condolences to you and your family. Please take as much time as you need and be kind to yourself.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of the loss of your father and of your health issues. The garden can be an oasis to us all. Take care, you are in our thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your father's death and your health. I love reading your blog and you have always inspired me.

Oh I'm so very sorry to hear about your father. That's one of life's greatest tragedies; take as much time as you need.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the garden so therapeutic? It continually reminds me that "life finds a way," in the most comforting (and sometimes harsh) way.
Longtime reader, first time commenter. I'm very sorry to hear about your father and the health problems you are dealing with. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to you also, and my [no pressure!] thanks for all your blog posts - always appreciated. I often look up former posts for tips as we are in similar zones. Please don't feel bad about ever not posting!!
ReplyDeleteGardens are such havens for tough times, and I am sure I am not the only reader who knows this from rocky life experience. Despite gardening set backs, I find the garden still tends to be more predictable and controllable then the outside world! And we also get veggies for our efforts!
ps - the scape photo is very artistic! I hope you enjoy your scapes. [I usually have added mine to cooked dishes in the past, and just this season tried them raw chopped in salad - yum. How did I not do this sooner?]
I'm so sorry for all you're going through. The garden is a wonderfully therapeutic place. Enjoy yours.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your dad. There's nothing I can say to make that better, but please know I can empathize.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the beautiful things in your life with the world. My goal is moving to Boston, and your garden is like a beacon of hope.
Kathy, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. From your blog posts detailing the work you put into your parent's garden, its clear to see how much your father meant to you.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and I hope that, in some way, the passion you have for the garden helps you through these tough times.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your father, Kathy. Thoughts are with you all. Your garden is always a salvation even more so at difficult times.
ReplyDeleteI want to thank you for letting me share your blog. You inspired me to have a go.
Please take care of yourself xx
My condolences Kathy, may the garden with all it teaches about the cycle of birth through death give you solace during your time of mourning and recovery.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I'm just catching up on blog reading and saw this post. I'm so sorry to hear about your father's passing. You have written before about your father's love of gardening and so I'm sure that spending time in the garden gets you close to lots of memories. Deb S
ReplyDeleteOh, so sorry to hear this Kathy. I had no idea!
