This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

today's harvest
My first cucumber, another pile of peas, broccoli, escarole and lettuce. It turned out the broccoli was full of worms and it went into the compost. Everything else was yummy.
I'm just about ready to pick my first cucumber. Last year's crop was awful, possibly due to lack of pollination, but it looks like I might be okay this year. There's nothing like a fresh cucumber in salad!
Good to see you back !!!
ReplyDeleteI also had a bumper crop of peas this year... I am planning to freeze them.. doing it first time hopefully it will workout.
I am so jealous you have cucumbers already! Good show!
ReplyDeleteA rascally rabbit ate most of my peas!
