This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

peas are sprouting
I checked on my peas today. Just dug a bit in the soil and found a seed. It had a really long root and just starting to send out a stem. I'll have pea sprouts in no time I bet.
Things seem to be sprouting really well so far this spring here in New England. My peas and favas all germinated close to 100% Maybe the delay in spring wasn't so bad after all.
Mine are up, they are up---------------now I suppose it will be slugs or cut worms----or rabbits----------or deer. oh well, it's fun anyway!----------Weedy
I just found your blog this Spring and I'm really enjoying it. I'm only about a half hour north of you so your posts have been a great reference. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteIf you grow good food, there will be competition for eating it!
