I harvested this beautiful cabbage head a few days ago. I'm looking for a good recipe as I have a special guest visiting this weekend. Any suggestions?
I'm thinking of maybe an apple and cabbage coleslaw served in the cabbage leaves. ... Some tangy green apples, with a few carrots, raisins and onions added. Maybe this recipe: Yummly Apple Raisin Cole Slaw Recipe.
Maybe frame it and put it up on the wall? It's SO BEAUTIFUL! Jeepers. Cabbage, who knew?
ReplyDeleteLove the texture of the savoy...it certainly needs a special recipe in its honor.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous garden shots and big doggie.
ReplyDeleteThere is a recipe for Pinot Grigio slaw which involves a small amount of peanut butter and is very good. Here is a link from a news paper. It was in our paper years ago, and I make it all the time -hope the link works:

hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI was given this recipe for soup from an Italian man I took care
of as a Home Health Aide.
It might be something you like. And I thought you might want another idea of how to use your
cabbage.
Chop the cabbage in small pieces.
Cook in Chicken broth or water
with bouillon cubes added. I like
to use about 6 cups of water or
chicken broth.
I add rice and garlic. Onions are an option. Other veggies like chopped carrots can be good, too.
I let cabbage and rice cook until
soft.
I add navy beans if I desire.
A secret ingredient of vinegar
makes the recipe complete. A few tablespoons is enough.
I hope this works for you. My son
likes it.
