This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

hummingbird and bumblebee
I took this photo yesterday - A hummingbird and a bumblebee side by side at dusk at the honey suckle.
After this sip, it looked like the hummer took some time to chase off the bee who took off fast. Then the hummer had the flowers to himself. It seemed there were a few hummingbirds, initially, maybe a bit of a battle for flower rights, but it went so fast I can't really be sure.
Wow. Great photo Kathy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo! Hummers are so territorial, but I guess he didn't mind sharing with the bumblebee.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I love the color of your honeysuckle. We only have yellow and red here.
