This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.
Hey Kath...Have you sown any seeds (besides peas) out in the garden and the comm plot? Im so itching to get more seeds sown. I may transplant the parsely and put the corn and green bean seeds in today.
I planted peas, lettuce, carrots and beets in my parents garden about 3 weeks ago. My mom says they are all doing very well.
I don't usually plants seeds in my garden, except peas and beans. I plant everything inside and then transplant.
I would like transplant my beets, cabbage, broccoli, carrot, etc seedlings to my community plot soon, but I hear we have a frost coming Friday night, so I will wait. I am planning how to protect my tomatoes that I already transplanted at home. I'll listen for updated forecasts.
It seems like good timing to plant the corn, but maybe too early for beans?
