This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

Skippy in his shady spot
Skippy has dug a BIG hole under his shade cover. Its the only place in the garden he's allowed to dig. Must be cooler down there. We've been at the garden on some really hot days this past week.
Look at that, he knows where to be! Having lost pets the warmth or love is overwhelming, great Skippy and full love to you as Skippy Mama. Kathy. Marian (London UK)
We have a little Black dog, too, and he likes to dig a hole whenever DH is digging he will have his nose in there. We thought he might be part terrier but he's not. Love the dog shots!
I really love community gardens. Santa Cruz, where me daughters live has several, and the DDs all have plots in them. We always go weeding when we are there. I take pictures of all the flowers! Lovely garden you have.
My chickens do the same thing. Dig down, and rest buns&tummy in the cool earth. Smart. =)
