This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

Wow, it looks amazing! I wish my seedlings looked as great!
ReplyDeleteLooking good!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could figure out how to build my own cold frame for minimal money (and without any power tools). I built one last year out of old windows and cinder blocks that worked pretty well, but it was kind of ugly looking...and the windows kept getting cracked and the glass eventually broke.
Stunning....
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a big cold frame. I'm jealous. Did your dad mention why the orchids wouldn't belong in there? I would think they'd enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular cold frame activity. Impressive.
ReplyDeletewhats a cold frame??
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Boston and moved to Pennsylvania in 2004. What an astounding change in gardening habits! We warm up about two weeks earlier here, and while that doesn't seem like much, it makes a huge difference in the growing season.
