This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

this is our backyard
Our backyard is buried under snow. Yesterday Channel 5 said, "Boston has had a colossal 70 inches of snow!" Don't we know it.
Skippy gets to run around in series of paths we have dug. The 5 foot fence is now standing only a foot or two above the snowdrifts. The snow is glazed with a layer of ice, but still loose underneath, so we can't walk on it. What a winter!
It reminds me of a corn maze for the winter! I like the little paths and Skippy doesn't look too bothered by it all.
ReplyDeleteWow that's a lot of snow. Most of ours is gone now in New Jersey and I can see signs of life in the garden. I hope for your sake and mine that no more snow hits the North East! Come on Spring!
ReplyDeleteEnough to make an Igloo! We had some lovely sunshine midweek it was great to see a blue sky for a few hours. Spring is coming the birds are singing Spring songs and the buds on the cherry blossom are filling out, yippee.

If the snow keeps up at this rate we'll feel like mice in a maze....unable to see over the top!
