This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

a wet week at the gardens
Wow! 4 days of non stop rain and drizzle after 3 months of dry weather. We sure needed it. And it was very pretty. The newly seeded fall crops are enjoying it. Skippy and I walked through the Belmont Community Garden paths on Wednesday in the drizzle and checked out the gardens.
Wet dog for sure! lol ~ Our garden is also showing signs of too much rain. Powdery Mildew is on the squash and pumpkins. I treated it and am hoping for the best. But I'm not complaining, we had been in drought stages for the past 7 years and this year we can't keep up with the lawn and the garden boomed. Peas are 10 feet tall and the flower beds are beautiful.
ReplyDeletePeas! Wow. I just planted a few rows last week. I hope they have sprouted.
