This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.
Just ate our first picking last night (6/7). It is amazing how quickly they go from flower to edible. Baby favas have quickly become as eagerly awaited as asparagus for me.
That's worth growing just for the beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeletethose are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it worth it just for the flowers! And I don't photograph red/pink very well so they're even prettier than this.
ReplyDeletethey are so wonderful! I've been swapping them and sending them everywhere! Sure to make a comeback they are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, the red looks good to me! I saved these from seed from Matron, been on quite a trip :-)
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for sharing these beautiful plants Matron and Dan! I'll have to save some to share myself.
