This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

Wow! Way to capture the moment! What an amazing shot...hummingbirds are one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteOh beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThese are just gorgeous. I've never been able to capture a hummingbird with my camera. Lucky day for you.
ReplyDeleteThey come and go so fast. This one just flew in front of my camera. I got 2 shots.
ReplyDeleteKathy your photo of the little Humming bird is just magic. I have never seen one, but think they are so beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteWow! amazing photos.
ReplyDeleteI grew these over here a couple of years ago. Beautiful flowers and pods, might try them again next year.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I may have to try those next year, especially if they attract pollinators (and humming birds!) so well. How do they taste?
ReplyDeleteThese beans are toxic! Only for decoration, pollinators, and hummingbirds. Though evidently you can eat them if you cook them and then rinse them a million times, I think I read.
ReplyDeleteVery cool you caught that hummer on film, I can see how you were startled by it's arrival, they are fast and loud little creatures! They like to 'buzz my tower' when I am filling their feeder or near a favorite flower bed.
ReplyDeleteYes, it buzzed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great hummingbird shot ... BRAVA !!!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! I've learned and enjoyed so much..
ReplyDeleteAmazing hummingbird pictures! I also just love that first picture with the bee on the right. Now that is a bee on a mission! LOL
Gorgeous picture of the hummer and the hyacinth bean flowers. Love the vine and the great pollinators they attract.
ReplyDeleteI think I will plant these again next year. They took a while to sprout and grow, but were great for the late season.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the purple hyacinth bean the most fabulous plant? I never tire of the beautiful blooms, lovely leaves and pretty pods! Your photos were wonderful. Thanks.

Funny you mention this now. I just recently bought a package of fresh seeds for next year! I didn't have any hyacinth beans this year and do look forward to growing them again.
