This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

a year of harvests
I put together photos of my garden harvests from the past year. I like to see how the crops changes from green to fruits to roots and back again. Also interesting how much I harvested last May and none this May. What's my favorite harvest? A tough question. I enjoyed growing that big pumpkin!

What a fantastic idea and way to visually document what you've grown each year.
ReplyDeleteSuch a delightful gesture on vegetable harvest..... what a list!!
ReplyDeleteHappy gardening,

I love seeing how we do from year to year too and your photos are wonderful. Last year I'd been harvesting zucchini and cucumbers for about a week now. I don't even have flowers yet this year. Though I think I see the start of the buds on the Costata Romenesco. It is by far the best squash so far with all the 60 degree weather. The greens and peas have been really producing well. Much better than last year.
ReplyDeleteKathy, that would make a beautiful poster!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collage! And great looking harvests.

ReplyDeleteThat is so gorgeous! It really is nice to see in one glance what all was harvested in which month. Stunning pictures :)
What a great picture - and I agree with another commentor, it really could make a great poster.
ReplyDeleteAt first, before checking the month names along the side of the pics, I thought you were implying you were able to pick straight through the winter, and then I wanted to know what cool stuff you were getting from the garden in December! ;-)
make a calendar! that would be so nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful visual of the year's harvest.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of computer program did you use to do it?
I am very impressed! Beautiful photos, too.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteKathy you are such an inspiration! Great photos as always and great information. I truly enjoy reading your blog.

Very nice photo grouping. I see some broad beans in May, I wish mine would get growing. They just have 1" immature pods so far.
ReplyDeleteAmazing Kathy, well done! I'm so impressed.

Whta a lovely idea!!
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing. The real challenge is December, January, February and March! I wish someone could breed veggies that grew in the hungry gap!
ReplyDeleteVery awesome! I agree with Mary...that would make a great poster. Publish it and sell it; I would buy that!! : )
ReplyDeleteI'll make a poster and calender to be available soon. But I'm on vacation for a while now!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. How in the world did you do that?
ReplyDeleteCalender is a great idea... Maybe ala Botanical Interests desk top style... I can definitely see that.
