This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

finally planting in the garden today
Enough with the dog poetry - I'm finally planting today!
Peas, favas and a row of potatoes will go in. Beautiful sunshine and sort of warm. Photos later.
I hope to join you soon! Mine is not turned over nor tilled yet, but its getting there! Thanks for all the information you give to this newbie gardener! I often refer to your blog with every veggie question I have!
That's pretty cool that the Obama's actually ended up getting a portie. I thought at first you got another dog by the puppy photos.
I started my peas & favas a couple weeks ago in peat pots. I will be planting them out very soon. I hope my potato order gets here soon so I can plant them as well. It's great to start planting in real soil.
Congrats on your first day of outdoor gardening this season! May you and Skippy have many yummy veggies all summer long. :-)
