This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

harvest from my garden
Yesterday's harvest: endive, pea tendrils, baby dill, many radish, a big head of escarole and some red lettuce. A nice salad!
Yes, I eat the pea tendrils. Usually in a salad with lettuce or quickly stir fried. Once I topped a pizza with them and it was very nice. They have a spinach-like taste.
They're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely!
ReplyDeletewow, lovely that your garden is still producing - i'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteFound your blog from the Belmont CSA - wonderful that you're still producing! I'll have to leave space for some fall crops in my garden next time!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering what you can do with pea tendrils? If you can eat them, that would be great news! Do tell. -Sandy
