My aging collection of seed trays and pots is clean again and ready to go. A bit warped, but functional. They all went through the dishwasher this morning. I even found an empty white milk bottle in our recycling bin to cut up for labels. I'm ready to plant!

Your enthusiasm is contagious! The long winter nights and big snow storms can be warmed by seed catalogs and cleaning equipment. Thanks for the vegetable garden planting calendar too. It's fun waiting for the planting dates to arrive. :-)
I started a tomato already... maybe in 6 weeks I can put it in the cold frame :)
Just how much do you clean them off before going in the dishwasher? I know I always tell people they aren't supposed to thoroughly wash their dishes before they go in the dishwasher - that it needs the grit and grime to bounce around in there and knock other stuff off the dishes. But I've never considered allowing dirt in the dishwasher. I'm guessing you already have them hosed off really well?
Jeph, Its not dirt, its soil!
And yes, I hose the pots off in the fall, then they sit all winter and everything in the pots drys out so it can shake out. I'm not worrying about some dirt in the dishwasher. There's a good rinse cycle and a heat dry.
Learned something new today--using the plastic milk bottle for labels. How clever! Thanks.

It's seed starting time! Nice to see I'm not the only one who gets excited this time of year. My seeds should be arriving in the next few days. Bring on Spring!
