This is a journal of my vegetable gardens. Skippy was my first dog and he thought the garden was his, even though I did all the work. Now Suzie and Charley follow in his footsteps. We're located near Boston (USDA zone 6A). I have a community plot, a backyard vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, chickens, and bees. I use sustainable organic methods and do my best to grow all of my family's vegetables myself.

What a lovely little harbinger of Spring, only it's sort of midwinter. hmm?
Our temps in Southern California are all over the place too. Very weird. The Carolina Cherry trees are just now budding after having their leaves go spectacular in the December cold.
I'm hoping I saved enough heirloom tomatoes for seeds this year.
50 degrees in Southern Maine today. All our snow got rained away last night.
Snowdrops give you Spring hope! I remember as a child the first time I thought to look inside the flower, so pretty. Our mad Squirrel likes them too, we have a game of fluffy thing dig them up, me put them back!
Our temperatures are mad too, I have tulips coming up ahead of Daffodils for some reason this year. We have gone from -4 daytime temp and snow last week to 8 degrees and rain today.

amazing!
This one of the only good things about ending the summer and fall seasons... being able to look forward to a new early spring as flowers blossom. In Colorado, our winters are long and cold. At least we don't have a few less pest control problems to worry about.
