wet cool spring
This evening I heard on the TV news that we have had the coolest June in 30 years. What a surprising spring! It was so warm in March, then so cool May and June. The peas, lettuce and brassicas are doing great. But I am starting to worry about my warm weather crops. The tomato plants are small, waiting for their growth spurt. Basil is looking sad. Cukes are small, watermelons too. I'm glad I did not to plant other melons this year.

Sounds like you've had exactly the same weather as the UK.
It's been grim. As you say, none of the warm weather crops are worth a damn and even the cool weather ones are pretty crappy – they've been drowned!
Our summer has been so hot our tomatoes are though for the season. Mid 90's every day. Hang in there. We will gladly share!
We have had the opposite, a very hot spring.
I agree, great picture! So true about the cool June weather (I'm in Maryland). I have to say, though, that it's been good for my late-planted lettuce and carrots. All I have to worry about now are rabbits.
Things are no better here in Dublin. Only thing doing well is the weeds.
Weather fluctuation made some of my veggies go to seed before I can see a thing, my strawberries are shocked (I think they are not sure what to do) too many bugs this year. many crabs look stunned, but I am keep giving my love to them and hoping hey will recover.

Look at those big fat rain drops! Things are getting even warmer here in Fort Worth, so hopefully it will for you too!
